Natural Stone, a Timelessly Beautiful Addition

March 12, 2019

In case you missed it, we’re featuring a mood board every month in 2019 to get the design inspiration flowing! The mood boards are inspired by new products that we love and that you’ll find useful! For example, in January we showcased a new year’s terrazzo board and last month’s feature was driven by blush and thru rectified porcelain tile. If you’re picking up what we’re putting down, then you’ll definitely want to keep scrolling through this month’s feature: natural stone.

Natural stone is favored for its multi-use properties as well as its durability and beauty. The value of natural stone materials is not something that should be taken lightly, considering that it is hand selected from the best sources.

Although natural stone solutions have been used mainly for large-scale construction in the past, recent data shows a growing trend towards residential projects. It can be used in a staggering number of ways: flooring, paving, bathrooms, kitchens, countertops, fireplaces, entryways, and atriums.

Marble, one of three different materials used to achieve these beautiful results, is a classic choice that for centuries has been used for everything from flooring and paving to wall coverings and statues. Case in point, marble is known for being highly-regarded in the world of interior design to this day.

The beauty of limestone is that it is as timeless as it is functional. From The Coliseum in Rome to your commercial or hospitality space, limestone flooring and wall tiles are sincerely a cut above the rest. This isn’t surprising if you think about the fact that it has been used and sustained for thousands of years.

Like marble and limestone, travertine is a sedimentary stone that has been used throughout history in a variety of architectural elements. It is actually classified as a form of limestone because of its functionality in paving and flooring.
